Impressive Van Gogh
Anyone who sees this old and absolutely gorgeous oil by Vincent Van Gogh is impressed and instantly knows he is looking at an important painting. It is Van Gogh’s version of Edouard Manet’s 1864 “Vase of Poppies on a Small Pedestal.” It was painted sometime during the period 1887-1890 when Van Gogh was testing his own abilities by painting replicas of other painters’ works to see if he could paint them as well or better. He decided he could not and killed himself. It is presented in a superb antique gold floating frame under museum glass. An investor is available to take a minority interest with the principal buyer having full possession – if the buyer in possession will agree to have it forensically analyzed and sold by Christies when Christies begins accepting forensics evidence as proof of authenticity.
